Maurice Béjart
Eight years after its first show in Santander, the Béjart Ballet Lausanne returns in the Spanish city for the International Santander Festival. The Company will present Syncope by Gil Roman, Un cygne d’autrefois se souvient que c’est lui, Altenberg Lieder and Boléro by Maurice Béjart.
The show begins with Gil Roman’s creation, Syncope, a ballet imagined as a failure or slowing of the heart. 5 to 10 seconds of loss of consciousness during which the brain can just imagine, invent or review without limit.
Then, Maurice Béjart’s works will be presented. Created 25 years ago for Gil Roman, Un cygne d’autrefois se souvient que c’est lui is today interpreted by two dancers of the Company. Altenberg Lieder let us imagine a unique moment lived by three beings. The show ends with Boléro, choreographed in 1961 by Maurice Béjart, on Maurice Ravel’s music.
