In the first part of the evening, Alors on danse… ! unfolds as a series of demanding compositions, intertwining amorous chassés-croisés with an affirmed sensuality, offering the dancers the material to express their best selves. Gil Roman dedicates this pleasure of all senses to Patrick Dupond, an iconic artist who embodied it at each of his appearances on stage.
For the second part, the company presents two ballets from Maurice Béjart’s repertoire, among his most emblematic works. Firstly, Liebe und Tod, choreographed to the music of Gustav Mahler, offers a profound exploration of universal themes such as love, life, and death through the language of dance. The evening concludes with 7 danses grecques, set to the enchanting music of Mikis Theodorakis. Béjart himself described this piece as a tribute to Greece, where the borrowings from folklore are both subtle and evocative.
