The opening act is 7 danses grecques, music by Mikis Theodorakis, “a ballet in which Greece, according to the Greeks, is all the more present because the borrowings from its folklore are minimal…”, insisted the choreographer. Created in 1983, it is a little jewel in a graceful setting, a ballet that demands from its performers a perfect mastery of classical technique and solar energy.
The second part is Gil Roman‘s latest creation, Alors on danse… !, dedicated to Patrick Dupond. This choreographic suite, articulated around classical technique, has no other subject than the pleasure of dancing.
The evening program ends with Bolero, a ballet created in 1961 by Maurice Béjart, to the music of Maurice Ravel. The central role (The Melody) is sometimes given to a female dancer and other times to a male dancer. The Rhythm is interpreted by a group of dancers.
